The goal of the 4CNC is to enhance services for preventing cancer, detecting cancer at earlier stages, and improving treatment outcomes in communities across North Carolina. We are dedicated to
- moving proven cancer prevention and control strategies into practice
- developing new research and evidence-based approaches that address local priorities
The 4CNC is based in the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of 33 Prevention Research Centers that are supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
We are among nine Prevention Research Centers that comprise the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network. Our CPCRN collaborative was launched in 2003 with an award supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Division of Cancer Control & Population Sciences of the National Cancer Institute.
